I preface
As a mechanical equipment, regular maintenance is necessary to keep it in good condition all the time. The use environment of mountain bike is relatively poor, so this work is more important. Especially in rainy days and muddy environment, the maintenance work must be carried out as soon as possible after riding. So, how should mountain bikes be cleaned and maintained every day? Let's have a look!
II clean
When the bicycle is covered with mud and the wire pipe is polluted and unusable, you need to take a full bath for the bicycle.
It should be noted that there are many bearing parts in the bicycle, which are very taboo of water intrusion. Therefore, when cleaning, do not directly use high-pressure water flow, and be particularly careful where there are bearings.
Step 1
First, clean the chain. Since the whole vehicle needs to be cleaned immediately after riding, you don't need to wipe the chain very dry. Just wipe off the soil adhered to it with cleaning fluid.
Step 2
Prepare the cleaning liquid in the container and use the detergent used in the kitchen. Do not use washing powder and other highly corrosive varieties. Although they are washed clean, it is easy to cause the screws to rust later.
Step 3
Wet the whole vehicle with a water pipe to make the dirt soft and fall off by itself. Where there is no bearing dirt and it is stubborn, you can use large water pressure to flush it. It doesn't matter if it can't be flushed. They can be solved in the subsequent steps.
Step 4
If you don't use the disc brake system, you can skip this step.
Use a clean sponge (special for disc brake) alone and stick the unused cleaning solution prepared in the second step to clean the disc and caliper. After washing, put the sponge aside and use it later.
Step 5
Use another sponge and stick the cleaning fluid to clean the surface of the whole vehicle, including the surface of the front, front fork, frame, brake (non disc brake), seat cushion rod, transmission, rim, spokes, crank, pedal, wire pipe, etc., and then rinse it with water. For some subtle parts of the front and rear transmissions where the sponge cannot go deep, stick the cleaning fluid with a long brush to solve the problem:
Step 6
Use a long handle hard brush to deal with the tooth disc and flywheel. First stick the cleaning fluid on the brush, press the brush against the tooth disc and flywheel, then turn the crank, turn it for several turns, and then change the speed back and forth to make the chain leave the original position of the tooth disc and flywheel, and then press the brush to clean the original position under the chain. Finally, rinse with water.
It should be noted that do not let the water flow into the flower drum and central shaft, especially for products with poor sealing. Some flower drums with poor sealing cannot be cleaned in this way.
Step 7
Treat the tire surface with a wide and hard brush, stick the brush with cleaning fluid, brush the tire surface in turn, and remove the soil, stones and other things in the tooth gap. Finally, rinse it clean.
Step 8
Water the whole vehicle with water to remove the residual cleaning fluid on the vehicle.
Step 9
If you don't use the disc brake system, you can skip this step.
Use the special sponge for disc brake just put aside to clean the disc and caliper again. Do not stick the contaminated cleaning fluid. The cleaning fluid contained in the sponge is enough. The purpose of this is to prevent the discs and calipers from being re contaminated during the previous cleaning process.
Step 10
Now, water the car thoroughly with water. The cleaning process is over.
III Airing
Carry the cleaned car to the drying place and carry out the following steps.
Step 1
Raise the car with both hands, about twenty or thirty centimeters from the ground, then let go and repeat several times to drop the water drops stuck on the car.
Step 2
Some cars are designed with drains. Lift the front theory so that the car body is almost perpendicular to the ground, and let the residual and leaked water in the car be discharged from the drain at the five links, frame, etc.
Step 3 dry the whole vehicle with a dry rag, especially the surface of the wire rod, the pipe wall of the front fork, except the disc brake disc, and let it dry naturally. Of course, you can also use a special rag to deal with it.
For the quick dismantling group, you can also remove the wheels to facilitate drying.
Note that the chain should be wiped dry as much as possible. If there is the sun, it is better to dry in the sun for a period of time, which is conducive to the drying of subtle parts such as the interior of the chain. It can not be completely dried with only cloth.
After the exposed part of the brake speed change wire is dry, adjust the brake speed change, loosen the brake wire and the speed change wire, wipe the wire inside the wire pipe and continue to dry.
IV Oiling
If the wheel is removed previously, install and reset the group first to ensure that the quick release lock is in place. If there is bearing in the oil filled place below, it is invalid; Bearing maintenance needs to be carried out separately.
Step 1
Fill the transmission line pipe and brake line pipe with oil, and then install and reset the line pipe:
Step 2
Oil the rotating parts of the brake lever and gear lever (fingering system):
Step 3
Oil the rotating part of the front dial:
Step 4
Oil the rotating parts of the rear dial:
Step 5
Oil the chain
Step 6
For the self-locking pedal, oil the lock catch to prevent rust:
Step 7
Oil the front fork pipe wall:
Finally, wipe off the excess oil on the surface of parts, including chains, flywheels, tooth discs, etc.
